PRODUCTS

Avatek Mountain Systems has multiple products to make sure the job gets done safely, efficiently, and reliably.

Avatek offers full design and installation coupled with construction services through our sister company MountainTek.

GAZEX

When initiated by the user, the Gazex Inertia Exploder is filled with propane and O2 which is delivered from a centrally located remote radio controlled shelter. The Gazex exploder then releases a powerful directional blast into the avalanche start zone.

With an option for an expandable gas storage setup, the user can carry out an unlimited number of shots during the season. The inertia gun design has a recoil system through its counter weight which minimizes the forces on the unit itself offering a long service life and the ability for mixed terrain rock/soil installations. The Gazex Inertia gun come in three sizes: 1.5m3, 1.8m3, and 3m3 (cubic meter).

GAZFLEX

The Gazflex 1.5m3 operates under the same principals as a Gazex exploder except it mounts on a single rear foundation. This is the ideal product for a vertical terrain installation.

A recoil system is incorporated into the spring cradle that is mounted on the vertical foundation which minimizes the forces on the unit itself, allowing for a long service life. The single foundation design simplifies and reduces the cost of installation. The Gazflex comes in a single size: 1.5m3 (cubic meter).

OBELLX+

The Obellx+ is a self-contained, removable hydrogen/ O2 based remote avalanche control system. The size of the blast can be chosen by the user to deliver the right explosive force for the avalanche problem.

The Obellx+ offers up to 23 shots before the unit needs reloading. Reloading the gas supply can be done at any helicopter staging area and requires only 20 minutes to refresh it with 2 new gas bottles.

DAISY BELL

The Daisy Bell is a cost efficient hydrogen based exploder designed for remote helicopter avalanche control routes. It is attached to a helicopter long line to provide up to 50 mobile shot placements with easy reloading from the road side with two new gas bottles.

The Daisy Bell’s control interface has built in safety features with a laser height sensor and a fail-safe user operated control module.

SUMMER TEST FIRING

As part of the summer service, the Gazex units are restocked with oxygen and propane and a test firing is done. The resulting blast is an impressive display of the power of Gazex (video slowed to .25 speed).
